Bird-watching - we are just 30 minutes from the renowned Brenne Natural Park, one of France's most important inland wetlands.
Canoeing - on the lake and down the rivers - Canadian-style or kayaks to hire.
Disco - if you must! La Concepte in the centre of Eguzon is open at weekends and some week-nights in high season. All ages welcome from 14 up.
Equestrianism - riding lessons, hacks and pony treks.
Farm visits - learn how local delicacies are produced, including cheeses, honey, fruit, cider, conserves, snails, poultry and meat products.
Fishing - holiday permits are available at modest cost for fly or bait fishing - trout, carp, pike, salmon, bream, dace, chub, gudgeon, barbel, perch, black bass, and zander. Night fishing expeditions can be arranged.
Flying - an unforgettable experience, sightseeing over the River Creuse and Lake Chambon at 1,000 feet or less. Or you can even take a trial lesson - just €60 per hour.
Gardens - apart from our own modest efforts, there is a well-established Arboretum and a large semi-formal country garden open to the public just ten minutes away.
Golf - the Creuse is not (yet!) a great golfing centre, but there are several courses within a reasonable distance, including the 18-hole championship course at La Châtre (Green Fees from just € 35).
House Hunting - yes, there are still bargains to be had if you know where to look. We'll be happy to talk over ideas with you, make introductions, or agree terms for off-season long lets.
Karaoke - in English/French on Wednesday nights at the Cottage Pub, 3 miles (5 km) from us. Be warned, we have set a high standard!
Micro-brewery - visit Bieres 23 and experience the passion of the true beer-lover making his brews. It doesn't hurt to taste a few, too.........
Motor-boats - various vessels ply the lake, including a "water-bus" which allows for a comfortable and relaxing tour, taking in all the sights along the shore."
Museums - Limoges for the porcelain of course, and Aubusson for rugs and tapestries, but you may be surprised to find a shirt museum at Argenton, an electricity museum at Bourganeuf, and a car museum at Valençay.
Roman Ruins - explore the fascinating museum set within the archaeological remains at Argentomagus.
Sailing - dinghies and life-jackets can be hired on-the-spot at the lake. Larger sail-boats (day-cruisers) and sailing lessons are also available by prior arrangement.
Tennis - at the outdoor sports centre at Eguzon
Walking - there are numerous well-marked nature trails through the woods and around the lake, including a strenuous 100 km challenge (which we haven't tried - yet!) You can also join themed and guided walks, especially during spring and autumn.
Water-skiing - lessons and tow-boat (with driver) for hire at the lake. If you prefer a little less active involvement, try the "Big Banana".
Windsurfing - boards and life-jackets can be hired on-the-spot at the lake. Lessons also available.
